A Brief History of ChemECoach

​

Brian Ricks is a chemical engineer and academic coach with over a decade of experience.

He has worked in the fields of sustainable energy, materials science, and analytical techniques.

Since 2015, Brian has been working full time as an academic coach and private tutor,

specializing in math, science, and engineering courses for high school and college students.

​

1999: First tutoring "job" in high school, teaching Algebra

2001: Early Entrance student at Clarkson University

2002: Began tutoring freshman calculus, chemistry, and physics

2003: Polymer Engineering Intern at GE Plastics

2004: Fuel Cell Engineering Co-op at Plug Power

2006: Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, Clarkson University

2007: Chemical Engineer at Mettler Toledo Thornton

2008: Laboratory & Teaching Assistant at Tufts University

2011: Applications Scientist at Netzsch Instruments

2015: Started Bricks Tutoring in San Diego, CA

2018: Moved Bricks Tutoring to Brooklyn, NY

2020: Moved to online coaching only and renamed as ChemECoach
